Jonathan Skelcher, President of Fitfix Health and Wellness Inc. of Toronto, has agreed to join ACE Tennis as Director in Charge of Fitness and Strength Training at Toronto Tennis City. Skelcher, who has a Fitness and Lifestyle Management diploma from George Brown College in Toronto, will implement the strength programs for the ACE Tennis Academy at Toronto Tennis City.
Skelcher has been teaching strength and fitness programs for over 20 years and has coached national and international athletes in multiple sports.
Joining Skelcher in delivering the strength component of the program will be Julian Hartl and Matthew Saks. Both Hartl and Saks are graduates in Fitness and Health Promotion from Humber College in Toronto and Saks brings a BA in Psychology to the team. Skelcher and his Fitfix team will begin the program on September 7th at Toronto Tennis City. “We are looking forward to working with the ACE Tennis team and helping the juniors to reach their full potential. Working with ACE Tennis is a great opportunity for us.”
The ACE Tennis program starts Tuesday, September 7th at 4pm for all International, National and Provincial programs. Skelcher with Tennis Director Ben Armstrong will operate a four day fitness training camp to prepare for the on court training which will start Monday, September 13th.
Toronto Tennis City manager Allan Tse indicated that the club will erect a temporary fitness training facility to house the fitness component of the ACE Tennis program. The facility will also be available to Toronto Tennis City members for warm-up, cool down, stretching and aerobic training.
